Joan AI for Microsoft Teams

Joan AI is now available as a Microsoft Teams app, letting you access Joan's workplace management features without leaving Teams.

With Joan AI, you can:

  • Book meeting rooms directly from Microsoft Teams.
  • Reserve desks for yourself or your team.
  • Find available desks.
  • Ask questions about Joan features and get instant guidance.
  • Get help with common workplace management tasks, such as:
    • How to book a room from a Joan device.
    • How to register a visitor in Joan Visitor management.
    • How to use various Joan features and workflows.

The Joan AI combines workplace actions with product knowledge, making it easier to manage your office and find answers fast — all without switching between apps.

Important: Joan AI in Microsoft Teams does not send booking confirmations or visitor notifications. To receive notifications, you'll need to enable the Joan Slack connector. Learn how to set up the Slack connector.

Enable Microsoft Teams integration

To get started, set up the integration from your MyJoan account:

  1. Sign in to your MyJoan account.
  2. Go to Settings → Integrations → AI Agents.
  3. Select Microsoft Teams.
  4. You'll be redirected to the Microsoft Teams app store (direct link).

From there, the setup has two steps:

  • Organization-level: Your Microsoft Teams admin needs to approve and enable Joan AI for your organization.
  • User-level: Once the app is enabled org-wide, each user needs to individually add Joan AI to their Teams account.

Add Joan AI in Microsoft Teams

Once your admin has enabled Joan AI for your organization:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Search for Joan AI.
  4. Select Joan AI from the results.
  5. Click Add (or Add to Teams).
  6. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Getting started

After installation:

  1. Open the Joan AI app in Microsoft Teams.
  2. Sign in if prompted.
  3. Start chatting with Joan AI.

You can book rooms, reserve desks, or ask questions about Joan immediately.

What you can do with Joan AI

Book meeting rooms

Reserve an available meeting room directly from Microsoft Teams — no need to open the MyJoan portal.

Examples:

  • "Book a room for tomorrow at 2 PM."
  • "Find an available meeting room for the next hour."

Reserve desks

Book a desk for yourself in just a few messages.

Examples:

  • "Book me a desk for Friday."
  • "Find a desk near the marketing team."

Ask Joan product questions

Joan AI can answer questions about Joan products and features.

Examples:

  • How do I book a room from a Joan device?
  • How do I register a visitor?
  • How do I connect my Microsoft 365 calendar?
  • How do I add a new device?
  • How do I configure room booking?
  • How do I manage desks?
  • How do I update my device?
