The JOAN Collection is launching on October 1 with three new JOAN devices – JOAN Assistant, JOAN Manager and JOAN Executive – designed to fulfill different needs and ensure a better fit for companies of different profiles.
JOAN Assistant fits companies looking to display basic meeting information and signaling room availability at the meeting room door.
JOAN Manager answers the needs of dynamic companies with modern workflows by offering on-the-spot booking on an interactive touch screen and delivering actionable meeting Insights reports that help companies further improve the way they work.
JOAN Executive’s distinctive feature includes enterprise WPA2-EAP Wi-Fi encryption for companies adhering to stricter data protection policies that demand additional safeguarding.
Different JOANs under the same roof
There are no limitations when it comes to using different JOAN devices in the same office. You can purchase any type – JOAN Assistant, JOAN Manager or JOAN Executive – and use them without any complications. The Joan Portal will also let you manage them all in one place.
How does this affect the JOAN devices you have already purchased?
All of the existing JOAN devices will be automatically upgraded to the JOAN Executive version in the following days. The devices will be remotely switched from the previous Joan Meeting Room Assistant to the now JOAN Executive device for free.
All of your JOAN devices will, therefore, gain additional options when it comes to encryption and generating actionable meeting insights that will provide a more comprehensive overview of meeting room resources.
If you’re happy with how your JOAN devices are currently set up, you can continue using them like you have until now. There’s no need for you to configure anything. In this case, you will be using the JOAN devices as Joan Manager with unconfigured functionalities of JOAN Executive.
If you would like to begin using the Joan devices as JOAN Executive, then you will need to reconfigure them using the JOAN Configurator in the JOAN Portal, where you will be able to switch to enterprise WPA2-EAP Wi-Fi encryption.
The enterprise WPA2-EAP Wi-Fi encryption fulfills the needs of usually larger companies with stricter security policies and more complex environments that allow for a more comprehensive overview of user Wi-Fi access. With WPA2-EAP, user access is granted based on a combination of usernames, passwords, and access certificates. The encryption masks communication between the user and the server, providing a high level of security.
