Sometimes JOAN devices might not be detected by your computer.
Mac users: While the JOAN Configurator is searching for the device, the computer might lock the USB port and if unplugged, the USB port won't be accessible until you reboot your Mac computer.
The quickest fix is to change the USB port and use another one.
Windows users: If your PC doesn't recognize JOAN, we would recommend that you try a different USB port.
Also, try to avoid using USB hubs, extensions or splitters. Please note that the COM port works best with the JOAN device connected directly to the computer's USB port.
If you are having issues with the JOAN Configurator trying to read the device's information, download a fresh copy of the JOAN Configurator here or in the JOAN Portal (look in the upper right corner for a chance to download).
If the issue still persists, please update the FTDI drivers here.
Installing or upgrading the connectivity driver for the FTDI serial COM port should do the trick. For more information, click here.
If none of the above solve the configuration issue, please contact the JOAN Support Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
