Joan Solutions offer 6-inch touchscreen models Joan Manager and Joan Executive, whose touchscreen can also be disabled completely according to your preference.
This means that you will no longer be able to browse the upcoming meetings scheduled in the room on the display itself, nor will you be able to book the room on the spot. Joan will only show the current status of the room and the next meeting coming up.
On the plus side, turning off the touchscreen will extend the battery life of your Joan device even further, as touch (in addition to several other factors) has a significant influence on battery drain.
To turn off Joan's touchscreen, log into the Joan Portal and go under:
- "Manage" > "Devices"
- and select a specific device, which will use these settings.
- "Manage" > "Advanced" mode > "Locations" > "Set features for this location"
- for settings that will show up on all devices managed under a certain location.
- "Settings" > "Device Features"
- for Global settings that show up on all devices.
Under "Touchscreen," click on the button to slide it to the left and disable the touchscreen or click to slide it to the right and enable Joan's touchscreen. Click "Save" and you're done.
Turning the touchscreen off means that users won’t be able to book meetings on Joan’s screen or view the room’s timetable. They will only be able to see the current status of the room and the meeting coming up.
Want to keep Joan's touchscreen enabled, but want to turn off the option of booking or deleting meetings at the door? Find out how here.
