On-premises Joan users should periodically upgrade their servers to the most recent software version to further improve Joan's stability and performance, as well as upgrade the system settings and device firmware. The updates are easy and don’t take more than a couple of minutes.
To check which server software version you're currently running on your Joan devices, go to the URL your server is running: http://VM_IP:8081 and after logging in (default username: admin, default password: admin123), you should be able to see the version in the top left corner of the status page.
Click on "Status", server version will be shown as marked on the picture.
Upgrade Joan's server software to the latest v5 version:
To update Joan's server software without repairing your Joan devices, please login into the server console
(you can use the VM console or SSH, default username: joan, password: joanaccess) and execute:
sudo docker-compose pull vserver && sudo docker-compose up -d vserver
Upgrade Joan's server software from v2 to v5:
To upgrade Joan's server software v2 to Joan's server software v4 you can download the latest VM server image from links below, in which case you will be required to once again pair your Joan devices with your Portal account. If you’d like us to do this for you, you can always contact our Technical Support at email@example.com and we’ll gladly help you pair your devices.
You can keep the existing VM image as a backup in case the upgrade does not go as planned.
