As Joan devices are thin clients with minimal computing power, they rely on the Visionect Software Suite (VSS) server to provide the relevant calendar information within the proprietary Joan interface.
That information is relayed via a web interface through a dedicated URL that is unique to each device due to their UUID/serial number:
Which is set as the default URL in your VSS server.
As the devices are displaying data from the URL above, they are also able to display any other webpage, if the default URL is changed.
And here’s how you can do that:
- Go to the admin dashboard of your server
- Log in with your credentials. By default, the following credentials are set
- Username: admin
- Password: admin123
And that’s it. The devices should refresh with the latest settings update.
Error message: “Could not connect: Connection refused”
If you see the error message: “Could not connect: Connection refused” on your Joan device, it means that your Joan device is unable to connect to the set URL. To resolve this, please set the Joan system as the default URL for your VSS server.
