Effortless check-ins, every time you arrive at work!
The Geolocation Auto Check-In feature in the Joan Workplace app allows you to automatically check in to your reserved desk as soon as you arrive at the office. Once enabled, your phone will automatically check you in when you're within a 200m (657ft) radius of your workplace—no need to open the app or do anything manually!
How It Works
When you have a desk reservation and enter the designated area around your office, the app uses your phone's location to confirm your arrival and check you in automatically.
How to Enable Geolocation Auto Check-In
- Open the Joan Workplace app.
- Go to Profile -> Settings and find the Auto Check-In option.
- Toggle the switch to Enable Auto Check-In.
- Your phone’s Location Settings will open automatically.
- Make sure you set:
- Location Access to Always or Allow all the time.
- Precise Location is turned ON.
How to Disable Geolocation Auto Check-In
- Go to the Joan Workplace app Settings and toggle Auto Check-In to Off.
- Important: Disabling the toggle doesn’t fully stop location tracking.
- To completely disable it, adjust your phone’s Location Settings:
- Change Location Access from Always/Allow all the time to another option like While using the app or Never.
Location Data & Privacy
- We never store or share your location data.
- All location tracking is handled entirely by your device’s OS. Joan never tracks your movements; it simply receives a one-time notification from the mobile phone when you enter the geofenced area and checks you in.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Auto check-in works only if your location permissions are set correctly.
- You can manually check in any time if you prefer not to use geolocation.
- Location permissions are 100% optional—you can disable them anytime.
