How does billing work for Joan subscription plans?

Here you can find a breakdown of how charges are calculated, billed, and managed across different subscription tiers

The process for managing subscriptions has been updated, with particular attention to how new devices and users are handled on your account.

How to add additional licenses to your subscription plan?

Suppose you have already paired 3 devices with your account and now intend to add 2 more. In this case, you will need to follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your MyJoan account with your account credentials
  2. Navigate to the “Settings” page via the top navigation menu
  3. Select “Plans & Billing” from the left-hand side menu
  4. Under the “Plan details“  you will see the overview of the current plan, including the billing dynamics and the number of licenses
  5. Increase the number of licenses accordingly, by clicking on "+", and consider how many additional devices you paired (if you paired 3 new devices, increase the number by 3, if you paired 5 devices, increase the number by 5, etc.). Make sure the number of licenses matches the number of devices you intend to have paired on your MyJoan account
  6. An overview of changes will be available, including the new cost.
  7. Click ''Confirm'' once you are ready.

These changes only apply to accounts which have a credit card added or who are paying via invoicing. Customers who purchase subscriptions via their reseller will activate the subscription via a pre-paid subscription code.

 

What will the invoicing look like?

As soon as you confirm your choice on the number of active users or devices, you will be billed for the additional users, but only for the remainder of the billing period. For example:

- You have a Business plan which includes 50 user licenses and you bought additional user licenses on 1.1.2015

- On 3.5.2025, you decide to add 50 additional users. An invoice will be generated immediately for 50 users, and you will be billed Pro-rated charges for the period of 3.5.2024 until 1.1.2026

That's it! Once a license is purchased, you will have the option to assign it at any time.
If you delete a user or if a user has been inactive for more than 60 days, the license will just become inactive and you will be able to assign it to another user.

The same logic goes for device licenses. For example:

- You have a Business plan which includes 5 licenses, but you buy additional on 1.1.2025

- On 3.5.2025, you decide to pair 3 additional devices. An invoice will be generated immediately for 3 devices, and you will be billed Pro-rated charges for the period of 3.5.2025 until 1.1.2026

Subscription cancellations are non-refundable!
