How to setup Visitor ePaper badge

How to prepare the Visitor ePaper badge for use with Visitor Management.

To setup the Visitor ePaper badge, you will first need to ensure the following settings are correctly set in your admin MyJoan account:

Log in to your admin my.getjoan.com account -> Navigate to Settings -> Visitor -> General Settings -> Toggle on the "Enable visitor photo" feature.

Under Visitor -> Device Settings -> select "Printers" at the top menu -> toggle on the "Enable visitor photo" if you would like the visitor to have the photo on the badge.

Pair the device to your MyJoan account

Once these settings are applied, you can begin using the Visitor ePaper badge badge by first turning it on by holding the button on the back of the Visitor ePaper badge. The screen will refresh to display the current battery percentage and the MAC address. In the MyJoan portal, navigate to Settings -> Visitor -> Devices -> click the "Pair a device" button.

Select the Visitor ePaper badge option and choose a name for the badge so that you can identify it in your MyJoan account. Enter the MAC address displayed on the Visitor ePaper badge and click "Pair device".

Now that the Visitor ePaper badge is paired to your account, you will need to connect it to the tablet you wish to use on the location. To do so, click on the tablet from the "Devices" menu and select the badge(s) you wish to connect with the tablet.

Ensure that your Visitor Management tablet has Bluetooth enabled and that's it. You can now go through the process of visitor registration and the tablet will select the Visitor ePaper badge that is connected to the tablet and currently has the best connectivity to it. The badge will start flashing while information is being uploaded to it. The process takes a few seconds for the Visitor ePaper badge to finish updating.

Returning the Visitor ePaper badge

When the visit is over and the visitor hands over their badge, they should use the tablet to sign out, indicating their departure by tapping on the "Sign-out" button. Once user signs out, the Visitor ePaper badge will return to it's initial screen. In case the customer forgets to check out, you can clear the badge from the MyJoan admin portal by navigating to Visitor -> Devices -> click on the badge and choose "Clear badge".
