This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and registering the Joan CMS player OS on an Intel-based media player (MiniPC).
Requirements

A MiniPC to use as a media player (digital signage player) that meets the minimum specifications listed below.

Provisioning USB stick, follow these steps to create one:

Use an empty (no other files) USB 2.0 stick
- Download and unzip the OS distribution
Centoplayer.zip - Install Ventoy tool from the distribution and prepare the USB stick
- After Ventoy was installed on the USB stick, copy the CentoPlayer Linux image (centoplayer-linux-XXXXXXX-XXXXX.iso) on the USB stick.

Please ensure your hardware meets the following minimum specifications:

Installation
Player OS installation
- Connect the player to display and power
- Connect a network cable to the primary network card, as the OS will update during installation.
- Ensure that Secure Boot is disabled in the BIOS.
- Boot the device from the USB stick and select the ISO image using the Ventoy tool.
- The player will automatically power off after the initial stage.
- Remove the USB stick, then power the player on again.
- The player may reboot several times; wait until it reaches the registration screen before proceeding.
Register to CMS

About one minute after the boot, the registration screen will appear.

Reach out to support@getjoan.com with your registration code (PIN) included.
⚠️ Important: Do not power off the screen during registration.
Completion

Once installation and registration are done, your screen will be ready to display CMS content.

If no content is scheduled, the display will power off automatically.

If the screen stays black:
- Wait 15 minutes.
- Reboot the screen.
