To integrate room resources from Office 365 into Joan, it's essential to ensure that the delegate user has the appropriate permissions assigned. This ensures smooth functionality and access to the necessary resources.
Note: After completing the instructions below, it can it can take up to 24 hours for Microsoft to apply the new delegation settings
Follow the steps below to set up permissions correctly in Office 365:
1. The account listed in my.getjoan.com under Settings -> Integrations -> Calendar -> Logged in with__________ needs to be added as a delegated user for each Room Resource in the Office 365 admin center.
2. Go to https://admin.microsoft.com/#/ResourceMailbox and locate the room resource you are trying to add to MyJoan
3. Click on the Edit button under Delegates
4. Enter the account that we copied from the first step, and click Save changes.
5. Go back to my.getjoan.com, navigate to Settings -> Integrations -> Calendar and re-authenticate the Office 365 user (again).
5. To add a room, please navigate to Settings -> Rooms -> Room and click on "Autoscan rooms" or "Add a room" to add the room resources manually.
If you encounter the error message, “You don't have permissions to read and write to this room resource,” it indicates that either the required time for the permissions to propagate has not elapsed, or the delegation was not set up correctly. Please ensure the delegation settings are accurate and allow sufficient time for the changes to take effect.
