Connect a device to a Wi-Fi network
To pair a device to MyJoan account, you must first connect it to your Wi-Fi network that meets specific requirements to ensure the device functions optimally.

Connecting the device to the network is a straightforward process, and you can refer to a detailed guide on how to do so by clicking here.
Connect a device to a server
The Joan system comprises of three components - a device, the MyJoan, and the Visionect Software Suite (VSS) server.
The VSS server acts as an intermediary between Joan devices and the preferred calendar solution, making sure your devices are working properly and displaying the correct calendar information on displays of connected Joan devices.
Thus, it is crucial to connect your Joan device to a server in order for it to function. Detailed instructions on how to connect your Joan device to a server can be found here.

Provide the device’s serial number
Each Joan device has a Universally Unique identifier (UUID) or serial number.
This number is visible on the packaging of the device denoted by the abbreviation S/N as well as in the Joan Configurator once the device is connected.
With it, the device can easily be located on a server (in the cloud or on-premises) and monitored for performance (battery life, Wi-Fi signal strength, etc.).
If you are experiencing any issues with a specific device, please contact us at support@getjoan.com and provide this serial number along with a brief description of what the problem is, and we will help you solve it.
Acquire the device’s log file
Each Joan device keeps a log file throughout its operation containing information related to the devices hardware, firmware, and settings and may provide great insight in cases where the device is not operating to its full capabilities.
Instructions on how to acquire the log file can be found here.
Important note: Joan devices do not keep any of your personal or calendar information stored in the log file. Only device-related data is tracked.
